Prospects
A prospect is a company (and, usually, a specific contact at that company) you're considering reaching out to. Prospects live on the Sales page.
Only owners and admins can create or manage prospects; members can view the pipeline read-only.
Creating a prospect
Use the New prospect form on the Sales page.
| Field | Required? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Company name | Yes | |
| Industry | No | Improves fit scoring against your ICPs. |
| Country | No | Improves fit scoring against your ICPs. |
| Company size | No | Free-text, e.g. "11-50". |
| Website | No | |
| Contact name | No | |
| Contact role | No | |
| Contact email | No, but required before you can generate a draft | |
| Language override | No | See Sales Languages. Leave empty to use your workspace's Sales language. |
| Notes | No | Free text for your own team's context. |
On success, you're taken straight to the new prospect's detail page.
Do not invent contact information. If you don't have a verified contact name, role, or email, leave those fields empty rather than guessing. A missing contact email simply means you can't generate an outreach draft yet — it doesn't block qualification.
Alternative: Discover prospects
The Discover prospects page (linked from Sales) offers three additional ways to build your pipeline:
- ICP-driven search — a live company/contact search against a connected provider (Apollo), when configured. If Apollo isn't connected, this option won't be available, and the page tells you so — manual entry and CSV import still work.
- Add manually — the same idea as the New prospect form, from the discovery page.
- Import from CSV — bulk-import prospects from a spreadsheet, up to the workspace's configured row limit.
Every prospect found or imported this way still starts at the same place as a manually-added one — it needs to be qualified before anything else can happen. Nothing found on the Discover page becomes a real prospect until you explicitly review and accept it.
Prospect status and fields
Each prospect detail page (Sales → a company) shows:
- Priority — a deterministic score used to rank your pipeline; disqualified or very-recently-contacted prospects are excluded from ranking.
- Next best action — a single deterministic recommendation for what to do next (e.g. Qualify, Generate draft, Queue approved email), with a plain-language explanation.
- Qualification freshness — Fresh or Stale, based on how long ago the prospect was last qualified and whether your Business Profile/Offers/ICPs have changed since.
- Company and Contact details as entered.
- Notes you've added.
- Qualification, Draft history, Find a contact, and Enrichment sections — covered in their own guides.
Editing and status changes
The product does not currently offer a dedicated "edit prospect" form beyond what's shown on the detail page (qualification, drafts, contact discovery, enrichment suggestions). If you need to correct a field like company name or industry after creation, contact VRsion Pro support — direct database edits are never something you or VRsion Pro staff should do outside the product itself.
Optional: enrichment suggestions
If an enrichment lookup has been run for a prospect, its detail page shows a side-by-side table of your current field values versus suggested ones, with the source and retrieval time. Nothing is applied automatically — these are suggestions for you to review and, if you choose to, manually update using the product's own edit path.
